The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the party enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
